1. Who We Are

MathCrown operates the platform at mymathcrown.com — a K-12 competitive math learning platform. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially children under 13.

2. Information We Collect

Students: first name, an optional last name, grade level, email address and password. Students can instead sign in with Google, in which case Google shares their name and email address with us (we never see their Google password). We also keep gameplay data (questions answered, scores, battles, streaks and topic accuracy) used to personalize practice, show progress and run the rewards program.

Parents/Guardians: name, email address, an optional phone number, password (or Google sign-in), the link codes of children they connect, and subscription status. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.

Teachers: name, email address, password (or Google sign-in), an optional school name and their class code.

3. COPPA — Children Under 13

MathCrown complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). For children under 13:

• We require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information.
• Parents may review, edit, or delete their child's data at any time by emailing support@mymathcrown.com.
• We do not serve behavioral advertising to children under 13.
• We never sell, rent, or share children's personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
• Children's accounts are linked to a parent account for oversight and reward approval.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To provide personalized math practice and AI tutoring via Axiom
• To display leaderboards and track progress
• To send account-related emails (password reset, and the weekly progress report parents can turn off at any time)
• To deliver earned rewards through verified parent accounts

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore) with enterprise-grade encryption in transit and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for secure login and never store plain-text passwords.

6. Third-Party Services

We use these service providers only to run MathCrown. None of them may use your data for their own advertising.

• Google Firebase — sign-in (including optional Sign in with Google) and database storage
• AI service provider — powers the Axiom AI math tutor. Messages sent to Axiom are processed by this provider only to generate a reply.
• Stripe — subscription payments for parent plans
• Resend — delivers the optional weekly progress email to parents
• Cloudflare — hosts the MathCrown server that handles tutoring, rewards and payments
• GitHub Pages — hosts the mymathcrown.com website
• Web3Forms — email capture for the founding family waitlist and new-account notices to our team

7. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Update inaccurate information
• Deletion: Request account and data deletion within 30 days
• Opt-out: Withdraw consent at any time
